There’s just something irresistible about Dunkin’s iced coffee—it’s smooth, sweet, and never too bitter, making it the perfect pick-me-up on a hot morning. If you’ve ever tried to replicate it at home with old coffee and a handful of ice cubes, you probably ended up with a watery, unsatisfying mess.
3tbspground coffee (medium roast; Dunkin’ Original Blend preferred)
6ozhot water
1cupice
1/4cupmilk or cream (light cream, whole milk, half-and-half, or non-dairy alternatives like oat milk)
3tbspsweetened flavored syrup (e.g., caramel, mocha, French vanilla – Torani or Monin recommended)
1tspsugar (if not using syrup)
Instructions
Brew Strong CoffeeIn a coffee maker or French press, brew 3 tablespoons of ground coffee using just 6 oz of hot water. This yields a double-strength brew ideal for iced coffee. If using a French press, steep for 4–5 minutes.
Pour Over Ice and Add Sweetened SyrupFill a tall glass or tumbler with 1 cup of ice. Pour the hot coffee directly over the ice. The melting ice will bring the strength to normal and cool it down. Stir gently to distribute the temperature.Mix in 2–3 tablespoons of your preferred flavored syrup (like caramel or vanilla). If you don’t have syrup, substitute with 1–2 teaspoons of sugar and a splash of extract (like vanilla or caramel flavoring).
Add Milk or CreamPour in 1/4 cup of your preferred milk or cream. Dunkin’ typically uses light cream or whole milk, but feel free to use your favorite dairy or non-dairy option. Stir until well blended and creamy.
Taste and AdjustSip and tweak to taste. If it’s too strong, add more ice or milk. Not sweet enough? Stir in a little more syrup or sugar.

Cooking Tips
Use Dunkin’ Original Blend for an authentic flavor—available in most grocery stores.
Brew in advance and refrigerate if you want zero dilution from ice.
Make a batch: Multiply the recipe and store the strong coffee base in the fridge. Add syrup and cream right before serving for a fresher taste.
Sweetness Control: Syrups already contain sugar, so adjust additional sugar accordingly to avoid over-sweetening.
