Measuring cups and spoons
- 2 Cups Strong brewed coffee
- ½ Cup Sugar
- 2 Tbsp Gelatin powder
- 1 Cup Cold water
- ½ Tsp Vanilla extract
Prepare Coffee Mixture:In a medium saucepan, combine the brewed coffee and sugar. Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Bloom the Gelatin:In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over the cold water. Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom and absorb the liquid. Combine Gelatin and Coffee:Remove the coffee mixture from the heat. Stir in the bloomed gelatin until it is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Add Vanilla:Stir in the vanilla extract to enhance the flavor. Set the Jelly:Pour the coffee mixture into a shallow pan or individual molds. Allow it to cool at room temperature for 10 minutes, then transfer to the refrigerator. Chill for at least 4 hours or until completely set Serve:Once the coffee jelly is firm, cut it into cubes or shapes of your choice. Serve plain, with whipped cream, or drizzled with sweetened condensed milk.
- Custom Sweetness: Adjust the sugar amount to suit your taste. You can also use a sugar substitute for a lower-calorie version.
- Coffee Strength: Use strong coffee or espresso for a bolder flavor. Decaffeinated coffee works just as well for a caffeine-free option.
- Alternative Setting: If you don’t have gelatin powder, agar-agar can be used as a vegetarian substitute (adjust the quantity as needed).
